Alcohol Workshops

You are here

University Health Services - Office of Health Promotion offers a comprehensive Alcohol Awareness Workshop for individuals referred by the Office of Student ConductStudent Legal Services, and Portage County Municipal Court. Our workshops are not limited to individuals enrolled at Kent State University. We also work in collaboration with other universities in Ohio and Pennsylvania as well as other county legal systems and law firms.

The Alcohol Awareness Workshop will focus on social expectations of alcohol use and options about drinking. Participants will be given a workbook to complete as the workshop progresses. The workbook, “CHOICES About Alcohol”, is published by The Change Companies® and covers various aspects of alcohol use and alcohol abuse prevention. Throughout the workshop we will also discuss possible consequences of and the risks involved with alcohol misuse.

Each workshop is 2 ½ hours in length and is held at University Health Services in Conference room A, located on the lower level of the DeWeese Health Center on the Kent Campus. Participants will be charged a fee of $100 for materials and services. Upon completion of the workshop, participants are required to complete a written reflection assignment. All paperwork, including the payment form and written reflection assignment is submitted directly to the sanctioning individual and/or institution by the workshop facilitator. Further information, including directions to the workshop can be found on the Workshop Participant Information Sheet (PDF).
