Graduate Student Orientation Scheduled for August 22 and 23
Welcome to Kent State University!
Graduate Student Orientation (GSO) is held prior to the start of fall and spring semesters and all new graduate students are encouraged to attend.
GSO provides an opportunity to learn about university resources and network with other new graduate students, along with representatives of KSU's faculty, staff, and administration. GSO supplements department and program-level orientations to help you understand our university community as a whole. GSO will feature a series of presentations from different resource areas across campus, campus tours, and breakout sessions facilitated by the GSO teaching fellows related to topics on teaching, research, and graduate student life.
Fall 2017 GSO will be held on Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23 in the Kent Student Center. Newly admitted graduate students are strongly encouraged to attend GSO and new teaching assistants are required to attend both days. The Tuesday program is open to all new graduate students and the Wednesday program is specifically geared towards new teaching assistants or those who wish to learn more about college teaching.
If you have specific questions regarding GSO, please contact Kyle Reynolds at firstname.lastname@example.org or 330-672-1466.
Registration for GSO is now open. A detailed schedule of presentations and session offerings will be posted later this summer.
Parking: Free parking during GSO is available in the “C- Campus Center” parking lot on Campus Center Dr., which is immediately before Summit St.
