CCI Commons Hosts Short Film Program With Maple Films

The CCI Commons had the pleasure of hosting a short film program with Maple Films, a local multimedia production company. CCI stands for College of Communications and Information.

Filmmakers Dustin Lee and Jon Jivan, both Kent State University alumni, visited the CCI Commons to share their brief films, including 20th Century Man, Super Pimp and Early October with CCI students. The Filmmakers at Maple Films focus on narrative filmmaking and work with a variety of media from international film festivals to silly YouTube videos. At the end of the program, Lee and Jivan led a group discussion about film production and shared their film festival stories. Students were fascinated by Lee and Jivan’s life lessons and filmmaking career industry stories. Both artists are with Kent State's University Communications and Marketing team.

A CCI Commons goal is to provide their residents with networking opportunities and experiences that give them an inside look into the real world. The CCI Commons continues to plan events and programs where students can further their career development.
