KSU Orchestra

Performing works for both full symphony orchestra and strings, the KSU Orchestra is open to students of any undergraduate and graduate major at Kent State.

PLAY MUSIC IN A VIBRANT COMMUNITY

Each season, the Kent State University Orchestra performs a five to six Subscription Concert Series. In the 2023-2024 academic year, the KSU Orchestra will explore the orchestra as a living, breathing, organism – a source of tradition and innovation that connects us with hundreds of years of ongoing musical creativity.

Whether you are studying at Kent State to become a musician, teacher, engineer, businessperson, scientist, writer, journalist, nurse – or any other area of inquiry – the KSU Orchestra is a welcome home for you to experience the joy of making music with others.

The orchestra frequently collaborates with faculty, students and other ensembles from across the Glauser School of Music, including Kent State Opera Theatre production and Kent State choral ensembles. It features both faculty and student winners of the Annual Concerto Competition as soloists.

Rehearsals are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:15-3:35 p.m. at University Auditorium, Cartwright Hall.

The ensemble is currently led by Dr. Jacob Schnitzer.
