National Artists to Speak at Kent Blossom Art Summer Artist Talks

Every year, Kent State University invites an exciting array of visiting artists to speak at the School of Art. This year, the summer workshop program, Kent Blossom Art, will include nine national artists who will give talks about their work for free at the Center for the Visual Arts, located at 325 Terrace Drive in Kent, Ohio.  All lectures are open to the public and take place in room 165 starting at 6:00 p.m.  The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, May 18 - Karyn Olivier (Sculpture)

Friday, May 19 - John Dilg (Painting)

Monday, May 22 - Aristotle Georgiades (Sculpture)

Friday, May 26 - Sascha Braunig (Painting)

Tuesday, May 30 - Matt Wedel (Ceramics)

Wednesday, May 31 - Enrique Chagoya (Print Media)

Thursday, June 1 - Cathryn Amidei (Textiles)

Monday, June 5 - Sunshine Cobb (Ceramics) 

Tuesday, June 6 - Anita Jung (Print Media)

The artists are also participating in the Kent Blossom Art summer workshops, which will be celebrating its fiftieth anniversary next year.  The two-week intensive courses offer undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to work closely with resident faculty and artists from all over the country.
