Transfer Advisory Council

Our organization strives to connect transfer students to Kent State through programming, community service and social activities.

Veterans Club

The Kent State University Veterans Club was founded in 1944. Our mission is to provide community service opportunities and social events for the Kent State University Veterans population. Also to have a place of common interest for Veterans to feel welcome and safe. All military service members both past and present are welcome in addition to affiliate members that have a desire to take an interest in veterans issues. Our club meets weekly throughout the year and participates in several on campus events.

American Medical Student Association

AMSA is a club aimed at helping pre-medical undergraduate students in their preparation for medical school.

Association of Pre-physician Assistants

Professional organization for undergraduate students planning on attending Physician Assistant school. This organization plans volunteering, speakers, and other academic support to help with the application process.

Biotechnology Club

A way for Biotechnology students to connect with others and learn about their major.

Diversity in Nursing Association

Working to increase diversity within the College of Nursing through peer and faculty support as well as educational, social and professional developmental programs.

Exercise Science Club

The purpose behind the Exercise Science Club is to create a body of students with similar interests and career goals who are available to assist and help peers gain knowledge and insight into the field of Exercise Science and its multiple concentrations offered at Kent State University; including Exercise Physiology, Exercise Specialist, and Pre-Physical/Occupational Therapy.

Medical Technology Club

Clinical Laboratory Science, also called Medical Technology, is the health profession that provides laboratory information and services needed for the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. The purpose of the Med Tech Club is to have Medical Technology majors and those of interest to this field to gather, discuss, ask questions, and support each other with classes and applying for clinical programs.

Optical Society of America (OSA) Student Chapter

The OSA-KSU student chapter has been established to promote awareness about optical science and engineering among academic and local communities. It serve as a means of communication and interaction between students, faculty, and administration. It also facilitates interaction between students and other chapters and national headquarters of the Optical Society of America. The chapter strives to provide insight into internship and job opportunities via interactions with members of the industry.

Organization of Athletic Training Students

Organization of Athletic Training Students is an organization ran by students whom are part of the Athletic Training Program at Kent State. We work to serve our fellow students, our university and our community. We organize volunteer events, fundraisers, community food drives and special activities to help benefit our students.

Pharmacy Club

KSU Pharmacy Club is the only pharmacy-related organization on campus. We target PCAT questions, volunteer work, interviewing prep and much more. We bring in guest speakers related to the field and from various pharmacy schools. We always invite anyone to come and see what we are about! Phi Delta Epsilon

We are an International Medical Fraternity; Ours is a co-ed pre-medical chapter that works to create physicians of integrity with a lifelong commitment to our guiding principles philanthropy, deity, and education through fellowship, service, mentoring, and formal training in leadership, science, and ethics.

Pre-Dental Student Association

This group provides guidance and information for students on the dental school track. Any class standing or majors accepted. We hold volunteering opportunities, school visits, and social outings for the pre-dental students here at Kent State.

Public Health Student Alliance

The Public Health Student Alliance (PHSA) is the official organization for the College of Public Health. PHSA was founded based on the firm belief that students’ of Kent State University participation in humanitarian efforts is important. The purpose of the PHSA website is to introduce you to our student group and provide you with more information about our activities.

Student Activists for Public Health

Student Activists for Public Health strongly believes that students need a reason to get involved. They need a cause they can trust. Public health, with a history of change and activism, is that reason and it is that cause. We aim to offer support, empowerment and understanding to the Kent State community. Student Activists for Public Health aims to show the Kent State community that public health plays a central role in their lives. Our goal is to facilitate sustainable change in our community with a focus on environmental, social, and political issues. We exist as a vessel for dynamic conversation about existing and emerging public health issues.

Student Affiliates in School Psychology

The Student Affiliates in School Psychology, or SASP, is a graduate student organization of which KSU School Psychology students are automatically members. SASP aims to act as a forum for current School Psychology students to discuss academic and professional issues, as well as facilitate social cohesion within the program.

Student Athlete Advisory Committee

The Kent State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a student organization made up of Golden Flash student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives and serves as a liaison between the athletes and the administration. Meetings are held once twice per month in the MAC Center.

Student Dietetic Association

The Student Dietetic Association (SDA) of Kent State University (KSU) sets out to impact the community through outreach initiatives as well as service while bringing a focus to the future of our members.

Student Nurses Association

Student nurse organization that focuses on building leadership skills through activities and events. Getting involved will help students reach their own personal potential and improve their student experience. Resume building and career development opportunities are also available. Community involvement is also a goal of KSU-SNA. Networking occurs at a local, state and national level - Local meetings, State and National Conventions.

Student Nurses Association (Trumbull Campus)

To provide an opportunity for student nurses to promote health in their community. To aid in the personal and professional development of future nurses

Students for Professional Nursing

SPN is an organization for students in the Nursing or Pre-Nursing major. Meetings and volunteer activities are organized for members to encourage involvement in the program, community, and to bring fellow students together.

Flashes for Recovery

An ongoing support group, Flashes for Recovery is open to any undergraduate and graduate student. The goal is to provide support for individuals in recovery from addictions and now considering the path of recovery as a lifestyle. University Health Services’ trained staff and a core group of student leaders conduct the weekly sessions which provide opportunities for students to share their experiences. Such sharing can assist individuals in gaining strength and hope in their own recovery efforts. An array of available educational and community resources is also shared with those attending.

The weekly meetings are not scheduled during periods when classes are not in session. The sessions are considered ‘drop-in’ with no pre-registration required, though first-time attendees will be asked to complete brief contact information.

The Kent State Environmental Society is an organization where students can come to learn, explore, and engage in environmental discussion and activism on the Kent State main campus. Our mission is to raise awareness in the student body about environmental issues both on campus and around the globe.

We are a group committed to conserving our natural environment through conservation oriented community service efforts.

Ocean Motion

Ocean Motion reinforces the importance of marine conservation efforts. Our main goal is to spread awareness about preserving the world's oceans and freshwater ecosystems. We educate members, raise money for related national organizations, participate as volunteers, and connect students through fun trips and activities.

Kent State University’s Women Center exists to facilitate the advancement of and to enhance the quality of educational experience and professional life for women students, faculty and staff of all campuses.

Health Professions Affinity Community

Enriching communities one student at a time. The Health Professions Affinity Community (HPAC) program is a fresh call to action to change the way we address health and success in our communities. The program relies on precious existing community resources, namely its children, and combining these resources in a manner that supports students’ success and health based on their academic and career interests and the desire to contribute to their community in a positive fashion. The goal of the HPAC program is to promote community health and success by empowering students to address persistent health disparities and challenges by enacting health projects in their communities. HPACs support students as they identify personal and community resources and connect them to pressing community health concerns. Students in HPAC use these connections and learning to make a positive difference now and into the future.

Mental Health

Active Minds

Membership in the Active Minds at Kent State University is open to any and all Kent State students, faculty and staff who have an interest in mental health or mental health awareness. 

Autism Connections Kent

We are a student organization dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable social support network for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and family. We also aim to educate "neurotypicals" about what living with Autism is like, and resources for pre-professionals with ASDs.

Body Acceptance Movement

The Body Acceptance Movement (BAM) is a student-run organization at Kent State University dedicated to educating, promoting, and supporting students on creating a lifestyle rich in body acceptance.

Council for Exceptional Children at KSU

The purpose of the organization shall be to improve the quality of life for individuals with exceptionalities and their families through professional excellence and advocacy. The organization shall coordinate and promote activities, programs and fundraising events which are of support to the goals of the organization.

Dress up for Downs

The mission of the organization is to partner with the Down Syndrome community to develop garments that are age appropriate and customized to fit their body types along with holding fundraisers and social events to inform Kent State University students about Down Syndrome.

Girls Helping Girls

To provide resources that will enhance personal and professional development. To encourage friendship and community collaboration amongst young women with dreams of inspiring one another to building a brighter future.

I'm That KSU Girl

I'm that KSU girl is a community, support system, and movement that is teaching girls to love, express, and be who they are. We have meaningful conversations and are changing girl culture to have each of us be the best version of ourselves with the help of one another.

Mental Awareness Club

MAC's mission is to educate Kent State students about mental illness in the Black community.

Mental Health Coalition

The coalition is designed for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in promoting mental health across campus while reducing mental health stigma. 

Stand for the Silent

This is a national Anti-bullying campaign. Our goal is to spread awareness on the impact bullying can have. This organization was started by a man who lost his son at the age of 11 to suicide due to bullying. We want to eradicate bullying and prevent other children from losing their lives to this epidemic.

The Nightingale Project

To inspire, share and raise awareness on mental illness and help those who are struggling; to be their nightingale. 

To Write Love on Her Arms

TWLOHA: KSU is a chapter of the national nonprofit organization and is dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA, Inc. exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and also invest directly into treatment and recovery.


Bio-Fit Club

Bio-fit club is your perfect dose of biology and fitness. You wouldn't want to run your car on bad oil, and your body isn't much different. The premise of Bio-fit club is to educate and discuss about drugs and supplements used in the fitness industry. These include, but are not limited to, caffeine, L-arginine, Beta-alanine, creatine, and glutamine. When you go shopping for your next round of supplements, know what you're buying rather than just getting it because your roommate said it was great. Meetings will highlight specific compounds and facets such as:

  • Safe/excessive doses
  • Pathways in the body
  • Personal experiences
  • etc.

Whether you study chemistry, biology, nutrition, or even if you just want to know more about the industry and what you put into your body, you are open to join!

We are a supportive network of women striving toward the development of a healthy lifestyle, so we will do this by:

Golden Flash Powerlifting Club

This club's main focus is to gather like minded individuals in the pursuit of greatness. We aren't your average Joes, but those who have decided to try and excel through fitness, mainly the sport of powerlifting.

Jeet Kune Do

Kent JKD is focused on teaching the philosophies, self-defense, and exercise habits expressed by Bruce Lee and the martial art he created, Jeet Kune Do. In this club students will learn how to protect themselves while on campus, be healthy, and build character as well as develop their martial arts skills and self-expression.

Kent Cycling

Kent State University at Kent Cycling is an organization that seeks to promote cycling as a sport and lifestyle on the Kent State University campus by hosting and participating in club activities such as group rides, races, and other cycling-related activities and events.

Kent Parkour Club

Kent Parkour Klub is a newly formed group at Kent State University where aspiring students can learn the capabilities of their own movement and expand the possibilities of what they can do with their bodies in the sport of parkour. This group encourages careful progression of skills to avoid injury and maximize fun and development of body control in space! We are a group that is passionate about the sport of parkour and freerunning, come and learn with us, you will be amazed at what you are capable of!

Emergency Medical Service

Our focus is on service and community, Kent State Emergency Medical Service is a student-led organization that seeks to provide its members the opportunity to develop leadership and interpersonal skills, acquire vocational experience, and gain a lifelong affection for community service. This mission is accomplished by providing the Kent community with year-round emergency medical service, in a manner that is respectful of individual rights and dignity.

American Red Cross Club at Kent State University

The American Red Cross Club at Kent State University is a wonderful way to gain volunteer experience both on campus and within the community. We play an active role in the blood drives on campus, volunteer in the community by serving at community dinners and educate members through various guest speakers on other facets of the American Red Cross such as disaster service and support for military families. This past year we helped serve meals at the Akron Community Center, taught children about fire safety at local preschools, made holiday cards to give to troops and veterans, and passed out fire safety information to fire prone neighborhoods around the Kent area. The Green team is a student organization intended to create a safe environment for those who were affected by power-based personal violence, for those who want to stand up to power-based personal violence, and those who completed the Green Dot bystander training.

Each year, more than 4 million people in over 20 countries raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer through the Relay For Life movement

MedLife at KSU

MEDLIFE is a secular, volunteer-run global health organization whose mission is to help families achieve greater freedom from the constraints of poverty, empowering them to live healthier lives. MEDLIFE seeks to achieve this goal through partnering with motivated individuals from poor communities working to improve their access to MEDs: Medicine, Education and community Development. MEDLIFE believes access to quality healthcare, education and personal development are basic human rights. To this end, MEDLIFE commits all their resources to bring Medicine, Education and Development to Low Income Families Everywhere.

Operation Smile

In the US, children have free access to surgery for cleft lip, cleft palate, and other facial deformities but this is not true everywhere. Operation Smile is an international charity that provides free surgeries to children around the world and trains local healthcare professionals.


UNICEF KSU is a Campus Initiative chapter of the United Nations Children's Fund - a global humanitarian organization working in over 190 countries and territories to protect the rights and lives of children worldwide. Our issues include food and hunger, clean water and sanitation, education, human trafficking, emergency relief, gender equity, immunizations, and more

Sexual Health

Planned Parenthood Advocates of KSU

We are a group of passionate KSU students who want to ensure the access of essential medical care to all. PPAKSU stresses the importance of political involvement within the community and nationwide to provide a voice for the people. We are an activist group that weekly meets to discuss our course of action and involve all voices in the process. We register voters, undergo necessary training, do phone banking, write our state representatives, and also work with the surrounding communities and campuses. We also do tabling and provide accurate information to properly educate and correct misinformation, as well as offer communication to clinics and affiliated networks. In addition to discussing PP specific issues, we also discuss other politicized issues and activist ways to inspire results.


People Respecting Identity, Diversity and Equality. PRIDE! Kent was founded in 1971 as an activist front and safe space for Kent State University's LGBTQ-and-Ally community. Our weekly meetings and events are safe spaces which cater to the social, educational and activist needs of our community.

Students Against Sexual Assault

Students Against Sexual Assault is a group of Kent State University students who are committed to raising awareness of sexual violence at Kent State and throughout the community.


Trans*Fusion is a group on the Kent State University main campus for trans-identified students and students that are allies to the transgender community.
