About Me
I grew up on a farm in Scio, OH. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English and History from Wittenberg University, with a focus in high school education. As a first-generation student, I am passionate about helping others access opportunities, resources and building supportive and caring relationships in higher education.
My advice to students is that it’s okay if your plans change because they very well may. Your path doesn’t have to be linear, and you don’t have to have everything figured out right away at the start. Start with what you enjoy now and give yourself permission to adjust as you go.
College and life is really just figuring things out one step at a time. Luckily, you have lots of cheerleaders here at Kent State University ready to help you accomplish whatever you set your mind to, so go for it!
What I Love About Kent State
Every campus feels like home, and there’s a sense of community that runs through the whole university. No matter where you are, the people care about students and want them to succeed, and it really feels like the possibilities are limitless for students.
Fun Facts
I’m a “jack of all hobbies” I enjoy painting, bookbinding, sewing, hiking, gardening, kayaking, skiing, playing pickleball and will likely continue to grow my list.
I love creative writing and hope to publish a novel someday.
I love watching movies and think 90s movies were the peak of cinema. Twister (1996) will always be my favorite!
