The National Capital Alumni Chapter hosts events and programs that engage almost 3,000 alumni living in the greater Washington D.C. area. From private tours at museums to participating in Alumni Day of Service, there is always something going on in the D.C. area to connect alumni and students.
We caught up with the National Capital Alumni Chapter Vice President, Matt Dermody, ’10, to hear about the amazing things the chapter is doing.
What are some chapter traditions?
Our traditions include group outings to our world-renowned Smithsonian museums, weekday happy hours, and Nationals baseball games when the Indians are in town. In addition, our chapter board is particularly proud to serve as a welcoming and mentoring resource to current Kent State juniors and seniors interning in the Washington Program in National Issues (WPNI) program each spring.
We also take part in the KSU Alumni Day of Service! This year we are preparing and packaging meals at Food & Friends on April 27. #FlashesGiveBack
