Raj Ghosh
Biography
I am Rajlakshmi Ghosh (I go by “Raj”), a Senior Advisor in the College of Communication and Information (CCI) at Kent State University.
I am a two-time graduate from KSU, I got my M.S. in Biology in 2009 and my Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction (emphasis in Science Education) in 2015. Prior to joining CCI, I worked as an Academic Advisor in the College of Education, Health and Human Services where I advised education majors and minors. In that capacity, I assisted students to review their degree requirements, discuss their progress toward degree, and facilitate graduation planning. I taught First Year Experience (FYE) course in the college and an academic recovery course designed for students on academic probation. I am committed to success for all learners and value connecting our students to resources available in the university and in the college. I believe in an inquiry-based approach to academic advising where advisors play the role of guides, connecting students to the resources as needed and facilitating their academic journeys.
I am originally from India; my hometown is the “City of Joy,” Kolkata. Presently, I live in Solon with my husband and two boys. I play Wordle daily and hold a 97% winning streak. In my free time, I like to read fiction and practice Kathak, a form of Indian classical dance. I love taking walks in the park when the weather is nice.
I feel very fortunate to be a part of CCI and look forward to meeting CCI students!
