David Williams is the retired founder and owner of David Williams and Associates, Inc. DWA is the exclusive sales representative for Game Time Park and Playground Equipment in the states of Ohio and Kentucky. Williams graduated from Kent State University in 1973 with a degree in Parks and Recreation. While at Kent, he was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. Following his internship at Oglebay Park in Wheeling, West Virginia, he entered into the sales world of playground and park equipment and began working for the Game Time distributor in Ohio. In 1988 he founded his own company, spending the next 30 years with the company. He firmly believes in the benefits that parks and recreation bring to local communities and he built his career supporting those values. In semi-retirement Williams continues to work with school districts and cities around the state providing annual playground inspections. He continues to give back to parks and recreation by volunteering with the Alliance Friends of the Park, serving as president the past five years. For his lifetime service and commitment to the field of parks and recreation, he was inducted into the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association Hall of Fame.
Proudest Accomplishments:
Successfully starting and owning my own company as the exclusive sales representative for Game Time park and playground equipment in the states of Ohio and Kentucky and named national Game Time Sales Representative of the year three times.
Induction into the Ohio Parks and Recreation State Associations Hall of Fame.
Using my resources to envision an all inclusive playground for my hometown of Alliance, Ohio, including the design, fundraising over $150,000, and volunteer installation of the project. It was one of the first inclusive playgrounds in Stark County.
Fifty years of developed relationships and lasting friendships created with my customers that have continued into my retirement.
