Jason Miller Wins Greg Jarvie Students First Award

Kent State University’s Division of Student Life hosted its annual employee celebration recently at the Kent State Hotel and Conference Center, where Jason Miller, director of The Counseling Center in the School of Lifespan, Development and Educational Sciences, received The Greg Jarvie Students First Award.

Student Life implemented The Greg Jarvie Students First Award to honor employees outside the division who are collaborative partners and keep students first.

The award was named in honor of Greg Jarvie, a Kent State University alumnus who served the university for 29 years as a residence hall director, dean of students, student ombuds and most recently as vice president of enrollment management and student affairs. Jarvie retired in July 2015.

Honorees helped further the mission of the Division of Student Life and Kent State by demonstrating their passion to put students first through engagement and collaboration to promote student success.  The annual, Student Life awards ceremony celebrates Kent State employees’ hard work and dedication throughout the year and recognizes integral campus partners.
