Aggarwal-Blackburn Visiting Scholar Presents on Cultural Diversity of Children's Picture Books

Fatih Cetinkaya, Ph.D., a guest professor from Duzce University in Turkey, recently gave an Aggarwal-Blackburn Visiting Scholar Presentation titled, "Cultural Diversity in Children’s Picture Books."

Held in the Read Room on the second floor in White Hall, Cetinkaya's lecture focused on his research examining the appropriateness of culturally diverse themes in children's picture books for young readers.

The Aggarwal-Blackburn Visiting Scholars, named after Pushpa V. Aggarwal and Minta L. Blackburn, is the visiting scholar program housed in the Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education in the College of Education, Health and Human Services at Kent State University.

The Read Center and EHHS welcomes visiting professors whose research interests match the interests of EHHS faculty, and whose areas of expertise enrich our programs - from partner institutions of established exchanges, and from parts of the world where Kent State's global network need to be expanded.
