I began my undergraduate career as a nutrition and dietetics major at Youngstown State University, and transferred to Kent State University. In 1989, I received an M.Ed. in higher education administration from KSU. For me, college was a transforming experience. During those years, I gained self-knowledge and confidence, identified my interests and dreams, and became excited about how the curriculum could prepare me for the world of work. I love working with college students to help them succeed and achieve their own dreams. I have worked at KSU for 15 years in various offices, including the Center for Student Involvement; University College; and Education, Health and Human Services. I am currently an academic advisor working with students in hospitality management and sports administration.
