Biography
I am the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education and Student Services and a Professor of Social Studies Education and Teacher Education in the College of Education, Health and Human Services at Kent State University. I have been at Kent State for 22 years teaching undergraduate and graduate students and now as associate dean. I am committed to supporting student success across the college and the university in multiple ways, from advising to programming to undergraduate curriculum.
My research has been in teacher education, social studies education, teacher learning, and technology in teaching. I continue to be passionate about teaching and strengthening the study of one’s own practice through self-study research. In the last few years, I broadened my work with self-study from self-study of teacher education to self-study of professional practice, currently, self-study of leadership.
