    Biography

    Dr. Yu Pan earned her Ph.D. in Counseling and Counselor Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and holds an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. She is a bilingual (English/Mandarin) National Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois. Dr. Pan has experience working in diverse clinical settings across the greater Chicago area and North Carolina. She is actively involved in several professional organizations, currently serving as an Emerging Leader (Professional Track) for the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling (AARC) and as an editorial board member of the Teaching and Supervision in Counseling journal. Her dedication has been recognized with awards such as the UNCG Spartan Leadership Award, the UNCG School of Education Distinguished Graduate Student Research Award, and the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (SACES) Research Award. Dr. Pan’s research focuses on fostering inclusive and empowering learning environments in counseling, multicultural supervision, supervision outcomes and processes, and trauma-informed education. She aspires to using her research as a tool for advocacy, to cultivate environments that actively counter systemic oppression.
