Gregory King and Megan Young, School of Theatre and Dance, presented "Cloud of Whiteness" at the Spaces Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 5, 2017. "Clouds of Whiteness," is an interactive sculpture, environment and performance space concept. Designed and directed by Young and performed by King, in "Clouds of Whiteness," Young abstracts social and political erasure through a sculptural feedback loop whereby cleaning or moving the modular brick sculpture triggers a fresh layer of white residue. The antagonistic mechanisms are made visible so that viewers may consider agency within systems of oppression. "Clouds of Whiteness" acknowledges how nationalist policies can reinforce the cultural status quo and degrade the development of vital, new foundations. Dancer King activates the sculpture during this live art performance. Web Link: http://www.meglouise.info/cloud-of-whiteness/
