Kent State Tuscarawas Recognized at the Ohio Statehouse

Fifty cheers for 50 years. Kent State University at Tuscarawas received recognition at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus to honor its upcoming 50th anniversary.

A weeklong celebration will be held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the campus, beginning on Monday, Sept. 10, through Sunday, Sept. 16.

Highlights from the past 50 years will be featured every evening throughout the week to honor the history of Kent State Tuscarawas, beginning with a special encore appearance from comic writer Dave Barry on Monday. Tuesday through Thursday of that week will feature reunions of Kent State Tuscarawas alumni, former athletic team members and campus retirees. Local favorites Bob and Melody Liberatore will perform a dramatic presentation on the Performing Arts Center stage Friday evening. On Saturday, a formal dinner by invitation will feature special guest speakers. The week will culminate with a community open house scheduled for Sunday.
