Airport is collecting pet supply donations for the fifth year
The Kent State University Airport is hosting its fifth annual Props-4-Paws collection event to collect food and pet supplies to donate to Portage and Summit county shelters and rescue organizations.
For the past four years, Props-4-Paws has been able to exceed its donation goal and is hoping to do the same this year, says David Poluga, Kent State airport manager.
Props-4-Paws is aiming to collect 2,500 pounds of food and supplies and will be accepting donations until Nov. 13. The donations will directly benefit the community by going to the Portage County Animal Protection League and the Humane Society of Greater Akron.
“The collection event was born out of a need and the desire to give back and do good for the community,” Poluga says.
Last year, Props-4-Paws collected 2,100 pounds of supplies and received donations from all over the country. The organization has collected more than 6,300 pounds of food, helping more than 7,000 animals in Portage and Summit counties.
In order to make donations even easier, Props-4-Paws has arranged for donations to be shipped directly to the Kent State University Airport. Donations purchased from Amazon Pets and www.petfooddirect.com can be shipped to the airport at: Kent State University Airport, c/o P4P, 4020 Kent Road, Stow, OH 44224.
Props-4-Paws is collecting a variety of pet supplies, including food, cat litter, treats and more.
