Located in Suite 291 of the MACC Annex, the Jenkins Student-Athlete Academic Center is a 5,000-square-foot facility with the capability of assisting more than 100 student-athletes at a given time with their academic needs. The Jenkins Student-Athlete Academic Center was named in honor of George Jenkins, a proud supporter of Kent State Intercollegiate Athletics and the provider of the lead gift for the facility.

The new academic resource center features seven individual study rooms, two study rooms specifically designed for mathematics, an individual quiet testing room and a 10-person conference room equipped with a 70-inch television that allows student-athletes to work on group presentations and hold academic meetings.

The Jenkins Student-Athlete Academic Center is staffed by two full-time learning specialists, two part-time learning specialists, five organizational specialists, a math specialist and numerous tutors and academic monitors.

Additional computers are available for student-athletes in the main study area of the Jenkins Academic Center, increasing its technological footprint by 40 percent compared to the previous academic resource center. The main study area also includes two 50-inch televisions to provide academic and university updates to student-athletes.
