In the past, grocery shoppers were encouraged to follow the outer perimeter and avoid the inner isles to find the healthiest food choices. This old adage no longer applies. Today, bakeries are found on the outer perimeter and many healthy choices, such as quinoa or brown rice, are found in the inner isles.
On Thursday, Oct. 18, at 5:30 p.m., Tanya R. Falcone, MS, RD, LD, coordinator of the Center of Nutrition Outreach in Kent State's School of Health Sciences, will talk about the best way to reduce the purchasing of less healthy foods. This workshop will take place at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center, Seminar Room B. Registration is required for this event.
