More than 500 Kent State University volunteers are preparing to welcome incoming freshmen to the Kent Campus tomorrow morning. Move-in day starts at 8 a.m. and runs through 7 p.m.
Incoming freshman and their parents will have the opportunity to meet Kent State President Beverly Warren and the university cabinet members outside Eastway Center beginning at 9 a.m.
Each year, volunteers with Movers and Groovers help students carry belongings to their new residence halls.
The Movers and Groovers program is part of Kent State’s Welcome Weekend, an orientation program that will run from Aug. 24-27. Welcome Weekend includes activities and events to encourage students to explore the Kent State community and provides a smooth transition to the university environment.
