Friday, March 13 for NYC Studio Students

Hello! Please read this email in its entirety as it includes important updates for the NYC Studio, based on today’s message that Kent State University will be extending the remote instruction of face-to-face courses for the remainder of the semester. Please share this information with your families and guardians as well.

Updated Schedule:

  • March 16-20: NYC Studio classes will resume via remote instruction, as announced on Tuesday 3/10.
  • March 23-29: Spring break will occur as scheduled.
  • March 30-End of Spring Semester: NYC Studio classes will be held via remote instruction.
  • Studio Access: You may access the Studio next Wednesday 3/18: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. to get your course materials, supplies, personal belongings, etc. All of your belongings should be removed from the Studio during this time.


Key Cards: We need your key card back before you depart New York City. You may return them to us next Wednesday 3/18: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. If you have already left the city, please mail them to us at:

Internships: All information regarding internships will continue to be shared with you directly by Hillary Stone.

Housing: Please note information regarding Study Away housing will be updated on the Kent State website soon at https://www.kent.edu/coronavirus. You may direct urgent questions to Amy Quillan, Student Ombuds. ombuds@kent.edu

Travel: Refer to https://www.kent.edu/coronavirus and https://www.kent.edu/globaleducation for updates and questions regarding travel.

Academic Commitment: All NYC Studio face-to-face classes will continue remotely starting on Monday 3/16 and though the format and details will change, your educational experience will still adhere to the same level of academic rigor and excellence.

Your Departure/Travel Plans: So that we can monitor everyone’s location in the coming days and weeks, please update us on your travel plans and departure dates when you have them finalized. If you live in the area or are staying in New York for any reason, please also let us know your plans.
