Overview

Rennes School of Business, founded in 1990, is considered to be the most international School of Management in France. With its cosmopolitan environment, classes taught entirely in English and with a network of more than 300 partner universities worldwide, Rennes School of Business gives you a unique opportunity to study in an international environment.

 


Location

Rennes is a vibrant, beautiful city steeped in history and filled with ancient, medieval architecture juxtaposed by modern amenities. It is clearly a student city: the total population of Rennes (426 500 people) includes 65,500 students. Rennes is the capital and largest city of the Brittany region of France. Students can take advantage of this central location which allows for quick access to nearby destinations: in only 55 minutes one can breathe in fresh sea air or the city of lights, Paris, is just 1 hour and 30 minutes by train.

 


Academics

Attend ESC Rennes for a semester, academic year, or a summer program!

For the summer program: Students complete 30 hours of in-class studies, working with other exchange students from all corners of the globe. Daily lectures are paired with individual and group work to make up the course content and all classes are taught in English. Students will also participate in company visits and a city tour of Rennes. Welcome breakfast and farewell lunch are included.

Course Title: Competitive Strategy (3 credit hours) The focus of this module is on Strategic Analysis on competitive and dynamic markets. This module deals mainly with two goals: (1) to increase the students' understanding of what managers must do to make a business sustainable and successful in the long term; and (2) to develop the student's ability to lead a Strategic Analysis of a firm on highly competitive and dynamic markets.

Course Title: Responsible Management (3 credit hours) The purpose of the program is to provide students with a conceptual framework and practical ideas for understanding how organizations and managers can optimize economic, social and environmental performance through a successful Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. It will examine how responsible managers and their companies' stakeholders can work together to create a more sustainable world.

For the semester program: Students can choose from a variety of business classes ranging from economics to marketing. Classes are offered in English and in French, and there is the option to take a French language class. Course lists can be accessed below and students must only enroll in courses from one course level.

Living in Rennes

After acceptance, students will receive a list of housing options from ESC Rennes. Students are then responsible for reserving their own accommodation (via email) for the entirety of their stay in Rennes. Past students have stayed in short-term apartments and hostels.
