Overview

The University of Technology Sydney was established in 1988 and has two campuses, one in Sydney and one in Lindfield. There are over 37,400 students, including around 9,751 international students. UTS is one of Australia’s leading technology universities. Campus life is culturally diverse with many vibrant international and local students. UTS offers over 130 undergraduate and 210 postgraduate courses across traditional and emerging disciplines such as architecture, built environment, business, communication, design, education, engineering, information technology, international studies, law, midwifery, nursing, pharmacy, and science.

Location

Sydney, Australia was built around a harbor and is the country's oldest and largest city. An international hub, the city feels quite diverse. Rarely dipping below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, Sydney has an ideal climate that encourages sailing, swimming, and surfing. There are also plenty of non-seaside attractions to explore, such as national and regional parks.

Academics

Courses are taught fully in English in a variety of subject areas, including the following:

  • Business
  • Communication
  • Creative Intelligence and Innovation
  • Design, Architecture and Building
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Health
  • Information Technology
  • International Studies
  • Sciences
  • General Electives
  • ...and more!

Begin your academic search with the UTS subject advising guides and the UTS Handbook for all subject and majors.

Living in Sydney

UTS has two campuses: City Campus in Ultimo where the majority of subjects are taught and Moore Park Precinct where some Sport and Exercise Science and Management subjects are based. A free campus shuttle bus runs between the City Campus and Moore Park Precinct and other transport options are available. Students with subjects on both campuses should allow for travel time between locations when allocating subjects in their timetable.

It is strongly recommended for exchange students to live on campus. UTS Housing provides a stress-free, fun and supported study environment, just a few minutes from class. Accommodation styles offered vary to cater to individual needs and preferences, with all options offering modern, fully-furnished and self-catered facilities for residents. Apartment options include shared apartments (2-9 bedrooms) or studio apartments. Living in the city center, shops and restaurants are only a short walk, and the beach is only a bus ride away.
