Where is your hometown?

Kent, Ohio

Why did you decide to come to Kent State?

I came to Kent State because it is a large public university in Ohio with a broad range of opportunities, programs and a diverse student body. Kent was also ideal because of its location near family and my partner's job.

What is your favorite place in Kent?

I visit the Kent Free Library weekly to borrow books and movies and participate in children's programs with my child. I also love going to Towner's Woods to hike and then grabbing dinner from Erie Street Kitchen!

What advice do you have for new graduate students?

Each person's journey through graduate school (and life!) will be different. Try not to compare yourself to others or approach graduate school as a competition. Appreciate who you are and what you bring to the table. Your voice and ideas are important!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy reading fiction not related to my graduate work, listening to podcasts, gardening and spending time with my family and young child!
