Join Us in Welcoming 530+ Prospective Students to Campus

Dear Kent State University Faculty and Staff,

Tomorrow, Friday, July 28, more than 530 prospective students and their families will pack the Kent Student Center and explore campus for the final Summer Preview KSU event of 2023. We have visitors joining us from Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin, plus our many visitors from Ohio and Pennsylvania. The application process for Fall 2024 opens on Aug. 1, and through this special visit day experience, we aim to give these students and families a wonderful first impression of our university and provide them with the information and tools they need to take the first step toward becoming a Golden Flash.

During Preview KSU, prospective students will learn what it’s like to be a student at Kent State while spending the day learning important admissions and financial aid information, touring our beautiful campus with current students, visiting our model residence halls and exploring the academic departments that interest them – not to mention enjoying music, lunch and a frozen treat from Kona Ice at Manchester Field.

Let’s show our Blue and Gold Pride and do everything we can to give a warm welcome and a wonderful first impression of campus to our Future Flashes and their families!

If you will be on campus this Friday, here’s how you can help:

Wear blue and gold. If you have a Kent State lapel pin or work-appropriate Kent State attire, please show your pride in our great university.

Greet students and families. Our guests will be touring our facilities and walking around campus throughout the day. Please greet them with a warm “Welcome to Kent State!” Let’s show them that they belong here.

Join us for the picnic. We will have hot dogs, chips, soft drinks, water and Kona Ice from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the tent on Manchester Field. Enjoy food, music and fun while welcoming these prospective students and their families to campus.

Please help us make this visit to Kent State a positive and memorable experience for all. Show them how Flashes Take Care of Flashes. Thank you for all you do to make Kent State a wonderful place to learn, work and grow!

Sincerely,

Sean Broghammer, Ph.D.
Vice President for Enrollment Management
