Kent State University's Minor in Italian Studies offers students a comprehensive exploration of the Italian language, culture, and history. The program combines language acquisition with the study of Italian literature, art, cinema, and contemporary social issues, fostering a deeper understanding of Italy’s contributions to global culture. This minor complements a variety of majors, enriching students' academic experiences and preparing them for careers in education, international relations, tourism, and cultural exchange. Graduates with this minor are well-equipped to engage in cross-cultural dialogues and contribute meaningfully in diverse professional environments.
Graduates of this program will be able to:
Admission to a minor is open to students declared in a bachelor’s degree, the A.A.B. or A.A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree (not Individualized Program major). Students declared only in the A.A. or A.S. degree or the A.T.S. degree in Individualized Program may not declare a minor. Students may not pursue a minor and a major in the same discipline.
