Art Enrichment Goes Virtual

For over 30 years, children have enjoyed participating in Kent State’s popular Art Enrichment for Youth program.

Under the direction of Professor Koon-Hwee Kan, Art Education majors guide students through activities that include drawing, painting (acrylic, tempera, watercolor), printmaking, clay, and 3D sculptural materials. For the program, art supplies will be provided. Creating a hands-on experience with multiple instructors and a young audience. By working with staff from Kent State's Office of Continuing Education, Professor Kan developed a program that is interactive, educational, and fun. The response has been gratifying as this semester's class has successfully filled.

Serving children in grades one through six, the Art Enrichment program illuminates the world of art by combining art studio activities with discussions of art as it relates to different time periods and cultures. Students are organized by cross-age groupings and work with a variety of media to develop their individual art skills.
