Where is your hometown?

Meadville, Pennsylvania

Why did you decide to come to Kent State?

I transferred to Kent State from Indiana University of Pennsylvania because the Ph.D. program was more academically rigorous, and the research opportunities offered here at KSU were more in line with my interests.

What is your favorite place in Kent?

I absolutely love the stone carved book benches outside of Merrill Hall. They remind me of how grounding a good book can be.

What advice do you have for new graduate students?

You are your own best advocate. If you want to achieve something at Kent State University, you can. Ask questions and advocate for yourself.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy kayaking, hiking with my dogs, roller skating and combing the shores of Lake Erie for beach glass.
