A Message From the Dean

We have reached my favorite season. Throughout the academic year, our faculty and staff fulfill various responsibilities to guide and inspire learners to achieve their goals. Every May, we celebrate their success, and a few weeks ago, we joined friends and family to honor the achievements of more than 350 Kent State University at Trumbull students. Congratulations to everyone as they take the next steps in their journey!

Please take a moment to read through this newsletter to share our student's inspirational stories and learn about some of our accomplishments. It has been an excellent year for our Regional Campuses. Last fall, we agreed to a partnership with Intel® for its Ohio Semiconductor Education and Research Program. Most of the 3,000 jobs Intel brings to our state require this two-year degree that can be earned here at Kent State Trumbull. We also added a Bachelor of Social Work degree. Learners can start this hybrid model of online and in-person classes at any regional campus. Both of these programs will fill significant needs in our community. For those who enjoy live performances, our rejuvenated Kent State Trumbull Theatre ambitiously finished four productions this year. It recently announced a robust lineup for the upcoming season, including Jimmy Buffett’s Escape from Margaritaville, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Green Day's American Idiot, and a full lineup of Sips & Scripts readings at Modern Methods Brewing Company.

We will continue to pursue programs like these that tie directly to our mission to transform lives and communities through the power of discovery, learning, and creative expression. Please let us know if you have questions about our campus or ideas for new programming. I wish you all the best this summer season.

Stay safe, and as always, go, Flashes!
