On Saturday, Sept. 23, in observance of National Public Lands Day, students from Kent State University's Recreation, Park and Tourism Management program and the Environmental and Conservation Biology program joined other volunteers in planting trees in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Professors in Kent State's Recreation, Park and Tourism Management program, Andrew Lepp, Ph.D., and Philip Wang, Ph.D.,were also part of the group. This program is from the School of Foundations, Leadership and Administration within Kent State's College of Education, Health and Human Services. The university's Environmental and Conservation Biology program is from the Department of Biological Sciences, within Kent State's College of Arts and Sciences.
This conservation project has a goal of planting 5,200 trees by the end of this year, and has planted nearly 2,500 to date.
