Kent State University is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to a recent survey. For the 11th time, Kent State has been named a “Great College to Work For,” which recognizes the colleges that get top ratings from their employees regarding workplace practices and policies.
Kent State University has again been recognized as one of America’s Best-in-State Employers for 2022 by Forbes and market research company Statista. In Ohio, Kent State ranks No. 3 among the top 100 employers in Ohio, landing above such notable employers as Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic, both located in Cleveland.

The Kent State University Board of Trustees has approved a new three-year Collective Bargaining Agreement between the university and the Kent State University Employees Local 153, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Now in its 13th year, the “Great Colleges to Work For” annual report recognizes the colleges that get top ratings from their employees on workforce practices and policies.
On the heels of being honored by the American Heart Association for its highest workplace wellness award, the Healthy Business Council of Ohio (HBCO) has awarded Kent State University the 2019 Healthy Worksite Gold Level Award for its healthy worksite practices.
Kent State University held its annual Veterans Day Commemoration on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Kent Student Center Kiva. This year’s guest speaker was Lt. Col. Colleen VanNatta. A graduate of Kent State’s Air Force ROTC detachment, VanNatta served as a media escort for joint information bureaus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, during Operation Desert Storm.
