A true milestone in the concept of international education, the American Academy celebrated its first Commencement in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, this year. The American Academy is a dual-enrollment program jointly operated by Kent State University and the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná. Fourteen of the students who first enrolled in the program when it launched in July 2018 were the first to graduate.
Kent State University will implement a new administrative policy regarding painting the Rock, which is located on Hilltop Drive on the Kent Campus. The policy, which goes into effect Jan. 11, 2021, is one of the institutional responses to racially offensive language that was painted on the Rock earlier this semester and aimed at African American students.
Kent State alumna Alyssa Mittereder has struggled with an issue faced by many during the pandemic: job loss.
