YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL by Various (April 21-23, 2023; April 28- 30, 2023)
We will be staging the results of our playwriting competition for High School Juniors and Seniors from Trumbull and neighboring counties.  Come see fresh new works by exciting young voices from right here in Northeast Ohio.

The Kent Trumbull Theatre Young Playwrights Festival was started as a way to encourage young writers in the Mahoning Valley and neighboring areas by producing their original plays.  Eligible students are high school juniors and seniors from Trumbull and surrounding counties.

Chosen plays will receive a production at the Kent Trumbull Theatre in April of 2023 featuring our company of skilled artists.  As our team brings their stories to life, students may also be eligible for scholarships to study at Kent State University at Trumbull.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

• Authors come from Trumbull County, OH, or a neighboring county (Ashtabula, Geauga, Portage, Mahoning, & Mercer PA).
• Authors should be juniors or seniors in high school
• Scripts should be roughly 10-15 pages long and have no more than 5 characters
• Plays should be written in standard manuscript format
• The Deadline for submission is February 1, 2023.
