Undergraduate Admissions

From the first semester, students in VCD develop professional skills, understanding of foundational concepts, and gain experience–based training directly applicable to a broad range of careers in design, illustration, photography and interactive media.

Technology Requirements

Prior to the beginning of the first semester, all Visual Communication Design and Photography majors are required to purchase a Macintosh laptop computer and specific graphic software. Photography majors are required to purchase a camera from the list of options.

The computer and software will be used in subsequent VCD courses throughout the remainder of the degree program.

Requirements and Roadmaps: Graduation Planning System (GPS)

Each catalog year (the year the student began his or her program of study at Kent State University) and major have specific requirements.  Roadmaps outline the course requirements semester by semester.
