Dean's Newsletter - July 2016
The 2015-16 Academic Year was marked by substantial advancement for the College of Business Administration as we continued to provide innovative high-quality education, professional development and valuable personal growth opportunities for our students.
The College meets the needs of our 4,370-plus students situated throughout our eight campuses in northeast Ohio and Kent State's facilities in Florence, Italy. Students are supported through scholarships, internship placements with top-tier organizations here and abroad, plus plentiful and diverse education abroad experiences.
Thanks to generous gifts from alumni, corporate partners and friends, more than 400 business students received scholarships totaling almost $699,000 over the past academic year, helping them achieve academic success both inside and outside the classroom.
The college's dedicated Career Services Office provides business students with internships in the United States and abroad with companies such as Cleveland Clinic, Fastenal, Goodyear, Key Bank, Progressive and Sherwin Williams.
Offering 15 study abroad locations as well as more than 120 partnerships with institutions across the world, the College of Business Administration offers numerous global experiences to enhance student resumes. To this end, all qualified business majors who studied abroad in 2015-16 received a $2,500 scholarship from the Fiedler/Borg Warner Scholarship Fund.
None of these accomplishments would be possible without the continued support of alumni, corporate partners and friends. I invite you to explore ways to support the college.
Sincerely,
Deborah F. Spake, Ph.D.
