Celebrate Mole Day and Halloween with the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry!

Celebrate Chem-O-Ween Friday, October 27 from 6:02-8 p.m. with Kent State’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry!  Chem-O-Ween is our spooky celebration of Mole Day and the end of National Chemistry Week!  

Join our chemistry department for chilling refreshments and spooky fun activities in the Integrated Sciences Building lobby. Stroll through our Haunted Labs to witness hair-raising science demos and spooky sorcery created from our witchy cauldrons of magic potions and frightening spells. Try to escape the Haunted Corridors with as much candy as you can!

Want to scare our socks off? Compete in the costume contests! Some lucky ghouls can win prizes like monster moles, candy, and superhero Kent State lab coats from the department. Stay for trivia Kahoot! as well. Chem-O-Ween concludes with a bang as we watch the Great Pumpkin Explosion on the Student Green!

Friends and family are welcome if each person is registered (free).

Purpose: Celebration of Mole Day and the end of National Chemistry Week

6:02 PM: Opening Scare-a-Moanies in ISB Lobby

6:20-7 PM: Kahoot! Trivia in Williams Hall room 110

7:00-8:00 PM: Costume Contest (Scary, Creative, Best of Show) in ISB Lobby

8:00 PM: The Great Exploding Pumpkins outside ISB Lobby

6:20-8 PM: Lab Demos, Spooky Drinks, Candy Petri Dishes with Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society, and “Sticker Stalking” (scavenger hunt) throughout first floor of Integrated Science Building and Williams Hall; “Full Moon Lift Off” outside of ISB Lobby
