K-CARE at Kent State University builds upon the tradition of comprehensive cybersecurity education and research, starting for minor, bachelor, master to doctoral levels, and sponsored research activities at the department of computer science since the early 90’s.
The alliance facilitates the development of new knowledge, methodologies and practices in cyber security, safety, resilience and privacy enhancements, advancing the state-of-the-art in the field, maintaining a commitment towards openness, individual cyber rights and dignity, knowledge sharing, and collaboration between educational institutions in cybersecurity research & education locally and globally- towards engineering a safe, secure, and connected world for all. The alliance works to disseminate knowledge with a student-centered approach to training future practitioners, researchers and educators in these areas. It broadly serves as a catalyst for excellence in cyber security research for the benefit of the state, the region, the nation, and the world.
The K-CARE is a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Research (CAE-R).
