Kent State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), which conducts site visits as part of its comprehensive evaluation process every 10 years. For information on institution-level accreditation, please visit the Office of Accreditation, Assessment, and Learning

Within the College of Education, Health, and Human Services, we hold professional/disciplinary accreditation from 10 professional accreditors (8 are CHEA-recognized) and provide annual reporting on all degree programs to the HLC. Our educator preparation programs (teacher licensure, endorsement, and administrative programs) are reviewed by the Ohio Department of Higher Education in addition to applicable Specialized Professional Associations (SPAs). Further, all EHHS degree programs are subject to seven-year external program reviews facilitated by Kent State University’s Office of Accreditation, Assessment, and Learning.

Core to our mission in the Office of Assessment & Accreditation in EHHS is a deep-seated conviction in the power of effective assessment and continuous improvement in shaping the future of our programs in the education, health, and human services professions. Through consultation with faculty in creating robust assessment methodologies and a culture of reflective practice, we are dedicated to fostering an environment where ongoing evaluation and feedback drive the advancement of our programs and practices.
