Hospitality Management Golf Outing, The Country Club, Pepper Pike, OH, April 26, 2010
We partnered with CMAA to host a golf outing at The Country Club. The day included 18 rounds of world class golf, breakfast, lunch on the course, cocktail reception, door prizes, silent auction, contests on the course, tee gifts, and much more.

Natalie has worked in the marketing and meetings industry for over 10 years and has been with ASM International – The Materials Society for five years. She is currently involved in every aspect of managing technical conferences and meetings for ASM membership around the world. Prior to joining ASM International, she graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Public Relations. Natalie is a member of PCMA and currently serves as a member of the PCMA POWER Chapter Education Committee.

Dave Lutz is a business improvement consultant specializing in the convention & meeting industry. His clients include a number of industry leading technology and service providers, CVB’s, Hotels and associations. Prior to going down the consulting road, Dave was with Experient for 22 years where he ran the two largest operating divisions. Dave is certified in Lean Processes & DFSS for Six Sigma, is on the board of directors for Passkey and is a Certified Meeting Professional. He has a regular column in Convene on Performance Excellence and is on the Education Committee for IAEE’s Annual Meeting for the Technology track (from www.velvetchainsaw.com).
OxFam Hunger Banquet, Kent, OH, February 26, 2010
Several members of the KSU Chapter of PCMA assisted with the planning and execution of the OxFam Hunger Banquet, hosted for the first time at Kent State University. Oxfam works directly with communities and seeks to influence the powerful to ensure that poor people can improve their lives and livelihoods and have a say in decisions that affect them. PCMA's 54th Annual Meeting: Dallas, TX, January 9-13, 2010
Twenty-six students traveled to Dallas to network, attend a career fair, and participate in educational sessions about career development in the meetings industry. While in Dallas, students also attended a Dallas highlights bus tour that included stops at the Dealy Plaza grassy knoll, the JFK assassination site, the JFK Memorial, West End Historic District, Farmer's Market, and Thanksgiving Square. Future annual convention venues include Las Vegas, NV in 2011 and San Diego, CA in 2012.
Hospitality Management Friends and Family Dinner and Silent Auction, Kent, OH, December 11, 2009
For the third year in a row, we partnered with CMAA to plan and host a Friends and Family dinner to showcase the Hospitality Management major and raise money to support our student organizations. We also hosted a Silent Auction with donations from local businesses, recognized students for academic excellence, and acknowledged PCMA and CMAA officers for their service to the student groups. Nearly 200 guests that included students, family, alumni, and industry partners attended this event.
Fabulous Bistro at the Fabulous Food Show, Cleveland, OH, November 13-15, 2009
Twenty-eight members from the KSU Chapter of PCMA volunteered to assist with both front- and back-of-house operations at the Fabulous Bistro.
Guest speaker, Joan Eisenstodt, Founder, Eisenstodt Associates, September 23, 2009, 104 Nixson Hall
KSU Chapter of PCMA hosted Joan Eisenstodt, founder of Eisenstodt Associates, a Washington, DC-based conference consulting, facilitation and training consultancy. Joan's been honored by MPI, PCMA, HSMAI, NSA, IACC and was inducted into the CIC Hall of Leaders in 2004. Joan spoke about various issues related to the meetings industry for an audience of approximately 80 students and faculty members in addition to guest lecturing in several classes. Joan's visit was made possible partly by funds received from PCMA when the KSU Chapter of PCMA was selected as the Student Chapter Of The Year (SCOTY) for 2008-09.
