About Us

The baccalaureate degree program in Professional Studies is a unique program that is designed for individuals who choose to work as educators in human services and resource settings, such as business and industry; outdoor education; religious, community, or interest and advocacy groups.

Individualized programs are developed to reflect a consideration for the nature of the setting in which educators will work (e.g., youth center, social agency, museum, park, business), the particular skills and competencies required in such an educational career (e.g., program planning, technology utilization, interpersonal and multicultural facilitation), and the nature of the particular educational function, which characterizes the options (program design, instruction, service delivery). The program culminates in a semester-long internship in a setting consistent with the students' career goals.

Mission

The Professional Studies Program mission is to provide a unique undergraduate education designed to meet the needs of individuals who wish to function in education, health, and human services settings, such as business and industry, non-licensure education setting, religious, community, or interest in advocacy groups. The program provides a flexible, individualized, comprehensive program that reflects each student's career goals and/or interest.
