Community Health Education

Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education

The Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health Education gives students the necessary tools to plan, implement and evaluate health education programs for individuals, communities and groups. The major features a capstone internship experience during which the student works with a health educator in a community setting. The program qualifies students to take the Certified Health Education Specialist Exam administered by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing.

Exercise Science

Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science

The Exercise Science B.S. program focuses on the scientific study of human movement and exercise, preparing students for careers in fields such as sports performance, rehabilitation, fitness and health promotion.

Personalize your degree by choosing from one of four concentrations: Exercise Physiology, Exercise Specialist, Pre-Physical/Occupational Therapy/Podiatric Medicine, and Strength and Conditioning.

Integrated Health Studies

Bachelor of Science in Integrated Health Studies

The primary mission of the Integrated Health Studies program is to educate individuals to serve the present and future needs of an increasingly diverse society in the professional fields associated with health and/or medical services. Fundamental to its mission is the education of students to excel as practitioners and provide leadership to their respective disciplines. 

The knowledge and understanding gained from the core coursework are applied within the context of a specific concentration, selected by the student based upon the student's interests and career goals: health sciences, health services and health care administration and systems.

Nutrition

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition

The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition provides students with a broad general education and a strong foundation in nutrition, dietetics and the sciences, preparing students for careers as registered dietitians in medical and health care centers, public health agencies, industries, and universities. The emphasis is integrating theory, research and application of knowledge to the profession of dietetics. The curriculum meets the Didactic Program in Dietetics requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and graduates are eligible for admission to accredited internships.

School Health Education

Bachelor of Science in Education in School Health Education

The Bachelor of Science in Education degree in School Health Education prepares individuals to teach health education in the schools. Graduates are eligible to pursue the state's multi-age licensure. Students complete a variety of field experiences and a culminating student teaching experience.

The Health and Physical Education optional concentration allows students to seek Ohio teacher licensure in both health education and physical education. The program is designed to be completed in five years, and can allow students to satisfy up to 12 credit hours of program requirements with graduate courses.

Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology & Audiology

The Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology is a pre-professional program focusing on the basic sciences of human communication, as well as the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders. This program provides a firm foundation for obtaining a master's degree in speech-language pathology or a doctorate degree in audiology.

Sports Medicine

Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine

The B.S. degree in Sports Medicine focuses on the knowledge and skills that are required for sports medicine and athletic training professionals with specific coursework in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, chemistry, physics, basics of sports medicine, and more. Focus on cognitive content and applied skills related to the human body, human performance and human movement and develop research skills and integrate theory to practice through experiential learning activities, including laboratories and internships.
