The American Sign Language/English Interpreting Licensure Preparation non-degree program prepares students for state licensing eligibility to become educational interpreters for the hearing impaired (birth to age 5). Completion of the prescribed coursework is a prerequisite to being recommended by Kent State University for licensure, and licenses are granted by the Ohio Department of Education
The Special Education Deaf Education Additional Licensure Preparation program is designed for educators who already have a teaching license. This program will give you the knowledge and skills you need to work with students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You'll learn about communication strategies, assistive technology and other tools that can help these students succeed in the classroom and beyond.
The Special Education Deaf Education Initial Licensure Preparation program is designed to prepare you for licensure in Ohio, this program provides you with the knowledge and skills needed to teach deaf and hard-of-hearing students. You'll learn to create and implement individualized education plans, use assistive technology and collaborate with families and professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
The Special Education Early Childhood PK-5 Additional Licensure Preparation program is designed to prepare educators to work with young children with disabilities or developmental delays in inclusive settings. You will learn how to create meaningful learning experiences that promote growth and development while addressing individual student needs.
The Special Education Early Childhood (PK-5) Initial Licensure Preparation program prepares students to become licensed special education teachers for young children, providing the knowledge and skills necessary to create effective learning environments for all students. With a combination of coursework and field experiences, students will develop a deep understanding of how to address the unique needs of children with disabilities and promote their academic and social success.
Special Education Mild-Moderate Needs Additional Licensure Preparation program provides a comprehensive approach to teaching and learning, including specialized instruction, classroom management and assessment.

The Special Education Transition to Work Endorsement Preparation program program is designed to provide educators with the knowledge and skills they need to support students with disabilities in transitioning from school to work.
