Christine Hudak, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, has been accepted as a contributing author to the book (tentatively) titled The Handbook of Continuing Professional Development for the Health IT Professional, to be published by HIMSS in 2017. Her chapter, “The Many Facets of Continuing Education,” will appear in the section on “The Importance of Lifelong Learning.”

Kent State University generates a large portion of the power used on the Kent Campus and at times can supply all the power requirements for the campus. In order to test the operation and integrity of the power generation, control and distribution systems, a test of the turbines will be performed on Monday, Nov. 12, when the university will be closed in observance of Veterans Day.
Kent State University views student feedback on courses and instructors as pivotal for designing courses and curriculum. In an effort to ensure the quality of academic programs, teaching and the learning experience of students, course instructors are asked to encourage their students to take the Flash Survey, the end-of-course student survey at Kent State for online and hybrid courses.

Faculty from Kent State University will join colleagues from the University of Cincinnati and Heidelberg University to lead the Greater Ohio Living Architecture Center (GOLA), which will be dedicated to the study of integrating vegetation within and upon buildings as novel ecosystems.
Kent State University's holiday closure schedule for 2018 will begin Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at 10:30 p.m. All offices will reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019.

The Kent State University Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed Kent State University in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Kent State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
