Christine Hudak, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, has been accepted as a contributing author to the book (tentatively) titled The Handbook of Continuing Professional Development for the Health IT Professional, to be published by HIMSS in 2017. Her chapter, “The Many Facets of Continuing Education,” will appear in the section on “The Importance of Lifelong Learning.”

Kent State University has named Nathan Ritchey, Ph.D., as its new vice president for Kent State System Integration. Ritchey was selected following a national search. He currently serves at Edinboro University as vice president for strategic initiatives and founding dean of the College of Science and Health Professions. He joins Kent State on July 1.
Kent State University's Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Todd Diacon has announced that Mandy Munro-Stasiuk, Ph.D., has been selected as associate provost for academic affairs, effective June 1, 2016.

Please note that beginning July 1, there will be several changes regarding Mail Services operations.
First, the department will have new hours, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., which means Mail Services will open and close a half-hour later than before.
The change also means that many departmental delivery and pick-up times will be a half-hour later than normal, but the new schedule will better align with the U.S. Post Office hours and the university’s business hours.

The Kent State University Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed Kent State University in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Kent State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
