The Board of Trustees on May 11, 2016, approved the operating budget for FY 2017, which includes a 2-percent funding increase for salaries of classified and unclassified employees not represented by a union.

In collaboration with the Division of Information Services, the Human Resources Compensation team is completing a project to update the university’s job description website. The Human Resources and Information Services project team completed development on this project in less than two months, using the Agile project methodology.
The new website application has incorporated several new features for departments, individual employees and other casual users of the website. These features include:
Kent State University’s holiday shutdown for 2016 will begin Friday, Dec. 23, 2016. In addition, the university will close Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, through Monday, Jan. 2, 2017. All offices will re-open on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017.

At Kent State, we want to honor the celebration of our Native American and Indigenous culture by developing a calendar encompassing all the university events that are relevant to Native American Heritage Month. The Native American Heritage Month Planning Committee is welcoming university divisions, departments and student organizations to begin submitting their programming, activities and events to the University Events Calendar to be featured on the Native American Heritage Month Website.
Open Enrollment is from Oct. 16, through Nov. 3. Each year in the fall, benefits-eligible employees may select and make changes to their health coverage plans based on their needs and the needs of their family.
