Pension reform legislation passed in 2012 included increasing the member contribution rate to 14 percent. This increase has been phased in 1 percent per year. The final scheduled increase took effect on July 1, 2016, when the rate increases to 14 percent from 13 percent.

Kent State University’s College of Education, Health and Human Services recently received accreditation from 2016-2023 under the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) standards. NCATE’s performance-based accreditation system for teacher preparation ensures that teacher candidates are prepared to make a difference in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade (P-12) student learning.
Kent State University’s Office of Global Education recently won high honors from the Printing Industries of Ohio and Northern Kentucky, receiving a Gold Award for Best of Category in the pocket folder category.
Michael Taylor, marketing and communications specialist for the Office of Global Education, designed a cross-functional folder for the office.

At Kent State, we want to honor the celebration of our Native American and Indigenous culture by developing a calendar encompassing all the university events that are relevant to Native American Heritage Month. The Native American Heritage Month Planning Committee is welcoming university divisions, departments and student organizations to begin submitting their programming, activities and events to the University Events Calendar to be featured on the Native American Heritage Month Website.
Open Enrollment is from Oct. 16, through Nov. 3. Each year in the fall, benefits-eligible employees may select and make changes to their health coverage plans based on their needs and the needs of their family.
