WKSU staff was honored with 11 awards from the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors (OAPME) in a ceremony held March 24 in Columbus, Ohio. Top honors went to WKSU for General Excellence – Radio, the fourth consecutive year the newsroom earned the acknowledgement. The OAPME Awards reflect standout work created in 2017.

The updated Tuition Benefit Workflow has been in production since March 30, 2018. A new feature captures all of an employee’s recorded dependents in a drop-down list. Some dependents listed will not show a “Student Banner ID,” and while this is not an editable field, having it blank will not stop the workflow process. If you do not see one of your dependents in the list, please contact the Benefits Office.
Online faculty/staff parking permit renewals will be available from April 16-May 11. After May 11, permits can be purchased in person in the Parking Services office located in Room 123, Schwartz Center. The Kent Creativity Festival event planning committee invites you to submit an application to participate in the third annual Kent Creativity Festival, to be held on Saturday, Sept. 29. Last year, the event drew more than 2,500 attendees, and expectations are high for an even more successful event this year. This multigenerational festival will provide an opportunity for people of all ages and skill levels to come together to create, share and explore the making of all forms of art.

At Kent State, we want to honor the celebration of our Native American and Indigenous culture by developing a calendar encompassing all the university events that are relevant to Native American Heritage Month. The Native American Heritage Month Planning Committee is welcoming university divisions, departments and student organizations to begin submitting their programming, activities and events to the University Events Calendar to be featured on the Native American Heritage Month Website.
