The Kent State University Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting Wednesday, Sept. 12. The Board is scheduled to convene at 2 p.m. in the George Urban Board of Trustees Conference Room, which is located on the second floor of University Library.
Trustees will retire into executive session from 8-10 a.m. in the Urban Conference Room to consider specific topics as provided for under Ohio’s “Sunshine Law.”
September is National Suicide Prevention Month. Monday, Sept. 10, is World Suicide Prevention Day.
University Health Services at Kent State University will hold a Mental Health Festival on Sept. 11 from 2-5 p.m. on Risman Plaza. Students will have an opportunity to interact and collect information on the mental health resources that Kent State offers. They can enjoy free refreshments and wellness-based activities such as Zumba and yoga.

The events of May 4, 1970, placed Kent State University in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded.
