Emad Khazraee, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, co-authored a paper titled "A Networked Reaction to the 2015 Ankara Attack in the Turkish Twittersphere" with colleagues from the Ohio State University School of Communication. The paper was presented by Aysenur Dal, an OSU doctoral student, at the Political Networks Conference (POLNET) on June 24, 2016, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Kent State University President Beverly J. Warren is pleased to invite faculty and staff to a holiday reception on Wednesday, Dec. 12.
The reception will be held from 4-6 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.
The Kent State University Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting Wednesday, Dec. 5. The Board is scheduled to convene at 2:30 p.m. in the George Urban Board of Trustees Conference Room, which is located on the second floor of the University Library.
Trustees will retire into executive session from 8-11:45 a.m. in the Urban Conference Room to consider specific topics as provided for under Ohio’s “Sunshine Law.”
The Peace Basket Project, gearing up for its 22nd year, continues with the support of members of the Kent State University community by providing gift bags, baskets and boxes filled with “little things” for the King Kennedy Community Center. Last year, more than 115 baskets were filled and shared at the center's holiday party.

Online final grading for Fall 2018 Full Term (POT 1), Third 5 Weeks (F3), Second Half Semester (H2), Second 7 Weeks (W2) begins Friday, Dec. 7, via FlashFAST. Grading is also now available for any fall 2018 course section that was flexibly scheduled. The deadline for grading submission is midnight on Tuesday, Dec. 18. Any final grades for fall 2018 courses not reported in FlashFAST by the grades processing deadline will have to be submitted using the Grade Change Workflow.
Mackenzie Bailey faced the typical challenges during the start of her academic career, including choosing a major and getting good grades. But that all paled in comparison her sophomore year when she received devastating news: Her father had terminal cancer.
“When I was home for winter break, he ended up passing away,” Ms. Bailey says.
